About the Steering Committee for the Nomination of the Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea as UNESCO World Heritage

Sansa, Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea (Sansa, hereafter), comprising Tongdosa, Buseoksa, Bongjeongsa, Beopjusa, Magoksa, Seonamsa and Daeheungsa Temples, were inscribed on the World Heritage List at the 42nd meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Bahrain on June 30, 2018. It is the 13th inscription of a Korean heritage on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

The Council for Inscription of Buddhist Mountain Monasteries in Korea on the World Heritage List (CIBM) is engaged in various activities to support research on the outstanding universal value of Sansa and conservation of the heritages. The Council will endeavor to make the value of Sansa known around the world and reimagine Sansa as a heritage of mankind. We look forward to your continued interest in our activities. Thank you.
